Hospital Care

CARENET researchers explore palliative and end of life care experiences for Canadians, with the goal of understanding the issues surrounding end of life care and translating that knowledge into practice.

Our work in hospital care settings has spanned the country and resulted in significant data gathering around end-of-life decision-making and goals of care discussions, particularly among seriously ill, elderly patients. Research projects have identified barriers to these important conversations, and have resulted in the development of decision aids and tools to facilitate discussions and improve care.
